Court

We had court today. We have prayed over this moment and also dreaded this day. One choice changed our lives, but it also changed the driver and his family’s lives forever. The driver plead guilty and took the plea deal of 15 years. He will have to serve half of this sentence before he will be eligible for parole. One choice cost him greatly. Facing him in court was hard and seeing his family walking through one of their worst days wasn’t easy. Drew and I were able to speak in court and share some of our thoughts and feelings. We were able to tell him that his identity is not found in his mistake, but in Jesus. While it was really hard to talk, we both felt like we had things we needed to say. We want to continue to walk in forgiveness and want him to experience the full forgiveness and freedom that Jesus offers.

Today was not a win for anyone, but every choice we make has consequences. Realizing that your choices not only impact you, but the ripple effect from those choices is ever reaching. Our hope is that as we continue to share our story, it will help raise awareness and continue to make an impact.

Good things are continuing to come from this tragedy. We look forward to sharing with you soon about some of our outreach opportunities and our vision in what we are walking in as well as ways you will be able to partner with us!
