Our Presentation
What does our presentation offer?
At our presentations, our family shares our story and talks about the power of choices. Every choice we make has a ripple effect; either positive or negative. At some events, our whole family speaks and other times just a few of us speak. It just depends on who is available and wants to share and the time we have. We have a short slide show of some photos of Aspen as she grew up and we end the presentation with photos of the crash and 911 calls. We also have Aspen’s car for students to view after we speak. This gives them an up close and personal view of the damage the vehicle sustained, makes it more real and allows them to ask questions.
We hand out One Choice bracelets to the students so that they have a visual reminder that their choices matter. We encourage them to wear them or place them in the car.
We partner with TxDOT at many of our events. We encourage you to consider taking advantage of the programs that they offer free of charge. They have the ability to engage with students K-12, as well as adults. Their program includes seat belt safety, discussing the dangers of distracted/impaired driving, and a variety of other topics. They have tools such as the roll over convincer and impairment vision goggles that help students gain hands on experience with how alcohol can affect your vision and senses.
We also enjoy partnering with DPS, local Sherrif’s Offices, local PD and other First Responders and have several ways we can join forces with them.
Our presentation can be adjusted to fit a variety of audiences. We have shared at High Schools, Colleges, AA meetings, Business Luncheons and Churches.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions. We would love to talk to you about partnering to share our story.
