Closer to Eternity
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
”Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us and eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Finding Joy…10 months
The grief is still there, heavy and unavoidable, but the joy is becoming easier to feel.

275 Days…9 Months
It’s hard to believe that it has been 9 months since we’ve seen our girl smile, heard her laugh, played with her hair, or snuggled on the couch having deep conversations.

Purpose from pain
If you are in a season of hard, a season of questioning your faith I want to encourage you to hang in there. Jesus and the promise of Heaven are worth the fight.

Floydada & Lockney ISD
On Friday, October 4th, we had the opportunity to share Aspen’s story with over 300 students from Floydada and Lockney High Schools, at the Floyd Country Safe Driving Expo.

Memorial Sign
Our hope is that when people drive by they will notice the sign and that it won’t just be another sign, but that they will connect the sign with a life lost and the importance of not drinking and driving.

We keep going…6 months
We keep going because one day we will see that all of this pain had a purpose. We keep going because God wants to turn every heart towards himself and He is writing a beautiful story in the midst of this all. Th

4 Months
So much has happened in the 4 months since our sweet girl entered the arms of her Heavenly Father. When I spoke at the celebration of life service and said “God is good, He is still on the throne, satan will not win and he messed with the wrong family”, I had no idea what God had in store for us.

Forgivness
Forgiveness allows you to walk in freedom. It breaks generational chains, it changes hearts. Forgiveness frees you from the chains that walking in un-forgiveness holds you in.

Embrace the experiences, make the memories.
Take the pictures, go on the trip, embrace the experiences, make memories. One year ago Aspen and I spent one of the best weeks of my life in Cancun on her senior trip. I’ll forever be grateful for those days and those memories.

Waves of grief
Grief-it hits in overpowering waves; it’s messy and has no pattern. We are all trying to learn to process as the waves come.

Obedience in the midst of the battle.
It’s been 10 weeks since our world changed. PTSD or Anxiety-whatever you want to call it-is so very real. I woke up at 4:13 am Sunday morning in panic because I thought I heard someone knocking. It took me a good bit to find my reality and realize nothing was happening and I was ok.

Jesus is the light that will overpower and crush the darkness.
I miss this girl terribly. Walking in what God is calling us to is hard. He doesn’t promise an easy life. Quite the opposite in fact. If you are in a hard place, cling to Him. He is the only thing that keeps us breathing.
